JERRY CORRELL 'Dandy Tunes & Banjo Friends'
Type of Product: CD/Tape
Description
A strong and very enjoyable album of old-time music by this fiddler from the Galax Virginia area. A competent fiddler, Correll gets a lot of variety and excellent results by incorporating many different banjo pickers into his accompaniment. There are too many to name on the generous 23-track disc, but some of the banjo players included are Kirk Sutphin, John Hermann, Nancy Sluys, Mac Traynham, Bob Buckingham, Bobby Patterson and Dale Morris. He also makes use of Wayne Henderson and Tom Mylet on guitar and Alan Mastin on bass. With good notes by Tom Mylet, there’s a lot of good old-time music here on a fine selection of tunes.
