In the past few years, Michael Cleveland has taken his place as one of the premier fiddlers in Bluegrass. When he cut this, his first album, he was a member of Rhonda Vincent's band and was already an excellent musician. This album's sound quality, while adequate, is not the best, but on the positive side Cleveland plays with spirit and feeling, has picked good tunes, and has Ronnie Stewart playing banjo--it's a good effort. There are a number of vocals here by Jeff Guernsey, which give Cleveland a chance to show his backup fiddling. A nice disc by a fine fiddler.
