Description
Old-timey songs from Sam McGee. Re-issue of an LP that was recorded by Mike Seeger in 1969-70 and originally issued on Arhoolie in 1971. McGee, who started on records and the Grand Old Opry with Uncle Dave Macon in the late 20s and was a fixture on the radio show for close to 50 years, was a superior guitarist of his time and his repertoire included some great tunes like BUCK DANCER'S CHOICE, FRANKLIN BLUES, FULLER BLUES, RAILROAD BLUES and DEW DROP, all of which show up here.
