Hall. Sizemore, who spent over a decade as Ralph Stanley’s lead singer, is now a lawyer in Nashville. He does a beautiful job vocally here, assisted by numerous fine artists, including Ralph Stanley (who tenors on I’LL NEVER DO BETTER THAN YOU—a Hall original that is very reminiscent of the Stanley classic I’LL NEVER GROW TIRED OF YOU). Kathy Mattea helps on the lovely I FLEW OVER OUR HOUSE TONIGHT, the Oak Ridge Boys join in on ME & JESUS and Tom T. himself provides the recitation for OLD DOGS, CHILDREN & WATERMELON WINE. Instrumentally, Sizemore in aided byAubrey Haynie (fiddle) and Randy Kohrs on dobro among others. There’s a bit of piano & steel guitar on a couple of tracks, but mostly this is pure Bluegrass.
