CHRYSTAL SAWYER 'Chrystal Sawyer'
Type of Product: CD/Tape
Description
This is a well-produced & successful album that features a new name to us: Chrystal Sawyer is a North Carolinian with a pretty, delicate voice that is tinged with the influence of Dolly Parton. Ms. Sawyer is beautifully backed by a group of super musicians, including Ron Stewart (fiddle), Adam Steffey (mandolin), Scott Vestal (banjo), Randy Kohrs (dobro) and Clay Jones (guitar), with Steve Gulley adding harmony vocals. From the credits it appears that Vestal and Clay Jones are primarily responsible for the excellence of the recording, mixing and arranging—they have done a superb job. Ms. Sawyer has a good enough voice to really profit from the great backing. A very nice record—we are impressed. PARDON ME, WHEN SOMEONE WANTS TO LEAVE, WALLS OF TIME, MULE SKINNER BLUES, SMOKE ALONG THE TRACK, JOHN THE BABTIST, etc.
