“Baby Girl” “A Tribute to my father, Carter Stanley” With the help of Ralph Stanley and various members of his Clinch Mt. Boys, Ms. Stanley has recorded 14 songs from the Stanley catalog, including two of Carter’s songs that were never before recorded: JESUS IS PRECIOUS and TWO SIDES TO A STORY. Ms. Stanley’s singing is effective on some numbers, a bit shaky on others, and there are weak spots in the fiddling, but the band members (Steve Sparkman, James Alan Shelton, Ralph Stanley II, John Rigsby , and Jack Cooke) provide a solid background for good songs like WHITE DOVE, HARBOR OF LOVE, WHO WILL SING FOR ME, THE ANGELS ARE SINGING, LONESOME RIVER etc.
