THE NEW NORTH CAROLINA RAMBLERS 'Four And A Half'
Type of Product: CD/Tape
Description
This North Carolina old-time band follows up its excellent first album with another generous helping of 25 tracks featuring Kinney Rorrer, Kirk Sutphin, Jeremy Stephens and Darren Moore. The group plays a variety of old-time music, but they specialize both in the Charlie Poole sound and the Carter Family style. Instrumentally they have captured those sounds to an uncanny degree: their two-guitar rendition of the Roy Harvey & Leonard Copeland classic BACK TO THE BLUE RIDGE is a neat example of this. Other noteworthy cuts include LEAVING HOME, MOTHER’S FAREWELL KISS, FADED COAT OF BLUE, GOODBYE MAGGIE, GYPSY GIRL, etc
