What looks to be a fine album (22 good songs and a stellar backing band) turns out to be a little disappointing with a number of songs that drag or just don’t have the punch or excitement of Mac’s best work. He is accompanied here by Kenny Baker, Josh Graves, Jesse McReynolds, Eddie Adcock and Missy Raines on this 1990 CD that features a nice mixture of old-time and country songs. Some of the tracks are quite good, and most fans of Wiseman will still want to have this disc in their collections.
