Their singing—and often their song selection—falls somewhere between Bluegrass gospel and Southern Gospel, though in recent years they have been getting closer and closer to a pure Bluegrass sound. This album, though one of their earlier efforts (1994), is probably the one most likely to appeal to the Bluegrass audience: it bears the influence of the multi-talented David Johnson, who plays 6 different instruments and most likely is responsible for the arrangements. There are only 10 songs here, but they are well chosen classics, and the Quartet does a lovely job on them (THE LILY OF THE VALLEY is particularly nice). If there is one recording to get by this group, this is probably the one.
