Description

|
This is the 2nd album we have seen and heard from this 3-member old-time band from the Pacific Northwest and it’s another well done and enjoyable recording featuring the band’s distinctive, moody style. There has been one change in personnel in DYAD since the group’s first album (WHO’S BEEN HERE SINCE I’VE BEEN GONE, DIK-5932, $ 13.50), with Leah Abramson replacing Stephanie Cutler. Although I thought there was more “knock-out” material on their first project, the group handles the 13 pieces nicely, featuring good fiddling by Shiho Mizumoto and the vocals of Ms. Abramson and Kori Miyanishi. HICKORY JACK—a Luther Strong fiddle tune—is especially well played.
