McCoury has recorded numerous albums over a long and distinguished  (he is now in the IBMA Bluegrass Hall of Fame), but song for song none of his records beat this one out.  It is a generous collection of true classics drawn from his early years with the Rebel and Leather labels.  The list of backing musicians is impressive, with such pickers as Hershel Sizemore, Donnie Eldreth, Sonny Miller, Jon Glik, Bill Runkle, and Del’s son Ronnie (in some of his earliest work with Del).   Some of the great songs featured here are RAIN & SNOW, ELI RENFRO, TAKE ME TO THE MOUNTAINS, SPRINGTIME OF LIFE, WHO SHOWED WHO, RAIN PLEASE GO AWAY and STANDLING ON THE MT.  Great music!
