Product Description

There have been several excellent Bluegrass bands from Canada in the past few years, including the fine Spinney Brothers of Nova Scotia, who now have at least four good albums to their credit—this is the first of their records that we have had the pleasure of carrying. Solidly entrenched in a traditional style, Allan and Rick Spinney do all of the singing here, and they both have excellent voices for Bluegrass, with a fine duet sound. They are joined by Gary Dalrymple (mandolin) and Terry Mumford (bass), as well as special guest Ron Stewart—who as always does a superb job on fiddle. The group turns out a solid, tasteful, professional album in all respects, with a good selection of old & new material like Mac Martin’s A FADE ROSE, A BROKEN HEART and DOES IT HAVE TO END THIS WAY, plus BLIND MAN, TODAY HAS BEEN A LONESOME DAY, MIDNIGHT FLYER, TENNESSEE BANJO MAN, FACTORY FLOOR, and MY FRIEND CLYDE.
