A fine fiddle album here from a North Carolinian who has had at least 4 previous records out. His credentials include playing for bands including the Bluegrass Cardinals, Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt and Jim & Jesse. There are 15 tunes here, 8  originals plus excellent versions of CATTLE IN THE CANE, WHISKEY BEFORE BREAKFAST, ASHLAND BREAKDOWN, and HAMILTON COUNTY BREAKDOWN. His own TWIN OAKS is a fine piece, and for a bit of variety he includes JUST A CLOSER  WALK WITH THEE, MILK COW BLUES, and I SAW THE LIGHT. A good backup band includes Wayne Benson on mandolin, Eric Ellis on banjo, and Wyatt Rice on guitar.
