BILL BROWNING 'Dark Hollow' BACM-517-CD

$15.00

Most of our readers will recognize the song "Dark Hollow" -- it's been recorded at least 25 or 30 times and is definitely considered a Bluegrass classic. It was West Virginian Bill Browning who wrote and first recorded the song, for the tiny Island label in 1958. A good version by Luke Gordon helped introduce the song to country and Bluegrass musicians, and it didn't hurt Browning any when the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia recorded the song as well. Most of the 30 other cuts on this CD were done with his Echo Valley Boys for the Island label, and the music is a mixture of both rockabilly and typical country/western of the 1950s. (British Import)
