This book is the written mandolin music accompaniment to the recorded project of the same name. recorded by Mike Compton. Herein you will find the sounds of thirteen tracks of rarely heard and unreleased instrumentals by the Father of Bluegrass. Culled from a large collection of hand-traded CDRs, cassette tapes and videos that Compton has built over his career, Mike and his band of Nashville's finest acoustic musicians, worked up fresh arrangements to these tunes that Compton curated from across Monroe's career and all the tunes but one were composed by Monroe himself. This project is the work of a detective, a historian and a master musician.
All tunes are transcribed in both standard notation and tablature to accommodate those who favor one system or the other.
