Mac Wiseman's voice is as good as ever on this early 60s collection that was supposed to be a Capitol LP, but was never issued. There's some good Bluegrass instrumentation here too, (including Joe Drumright on banjo and on fiddle, and several good songs like MOTHER KNOWS BEST, SWEET SUMMER'S GONE AWAY, DARK HOLLOW, IF I COULD LIVE THAT WAY and THEY'RE ALL GOIN' HOME BUT ONE. Wiseman fans will more than likely appreciate the job he does here, on what is essentially a combination of country & Bluegrass. Collectors take notice: all twelve cuts here are also on the recent box set put out by Bear Family.
