Hylo Brown of east Kentucky was a hardworking bluegrass singer throughout the 50s and 60s and beyond. His partnerships with Flatt and Scruggs as well as the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers along with his solo projects like this left behind a great legacy of a wide repertoire. A great enjoyable album of classic and obscure traditional songs like TAKE THIS HAMMER, KNOXVILLE GIRL, DON'T THAT ROAD LOOK ROUGH AND ROCKY, BRING A LITTLE WATER SYLVIE, and BARBARA ALLEN.
