A stellar Old-Time music compilation from Smithsonian Folkways. This album features traditional artists 'rediscovered' during the folk revival like Dock Boggs, Sam and Kirk McGee, Roscoe Holcomb, J. E. Mainer as well as folks found by folklorists like Lee Sexton and Joe and Odell Thompson. There's also a nice cross section of 'folky' bands like the Iron Mountain String Band, New Lost City Ramblers and the Red Clay Ramblers. One of the best cross-section albums of old-time music!
