RUDY LYLE 'The Unsung Hero of the Five-String Banjo' WAREHAM-BOOK

Add To Wishlist

Rudy Lyle was undoubtedly one of the most visionary banjoists of early bluegrass music. His unique approach was documented in a canon of recordings that set the standard for bluegrass bands through the present day. Hailing from Franklin County, Virginia, Lyle started his musical career on WPAQ in Mt. Airy, N.C. and soon made it to country music's main stage, the Grand Ole Opry.

Max Wareham, an imaginative banjoist in his own right has put together research, transcriptions, musician's incites and extensive interviews with family members as well as banjo heroes like Alan Munde, Bill Emerson and Sonny Osborne to name a few to yield what is a stellar addition to the bluegrass print catalog. If you're a banjo player looking to branch out this is the book for you. If you're a bluegrass historian wanting to learn more about an inspiration to many of bluegrass' demigods, this is the book for you. A thoroughly enjoyable work all around that County Sales is delighted to offer to you!
