Product Description

Cooper Creek has done a nice job in presenting this 23 track collection that features one of the poineer Bluegrass bands from cuts preserved on acetate radio transcriptions made in early 1950. In addition to Carl & J.P. Sauceman, the band includes Curly Seckler, the multi-talented Joe Start and Asheville N.C. fiddler Arville Freeman. Sauceman went on to record for Rich-R-Tone, Mercury, Capital & other labels. A nice nostalgic look at country radio of the period. With notes by Jack Tottle. KATY HILL, SHINE ON ME, JIMMIE BROWN THE NEWSBOY, NO LETTER IN THE MAIL, DARLING COREY, DOWN THE ROAD, ANYWHERE IS HOME, I AM A PILGRIM, RABBIT IN THE LOG, THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN, BLUEGRASS BREAKDOWN, ETC.
