GINGER BOATWRIGHT 'Sipsey'

GINGER BOATWRIGHT 'Sipsey'

  • $13.50

Bluegrass fans who have been around for a while will remember Ms. Boatwright as lead singer for the group Red, White & Blue (grass), a short-lived group regionally popular in the early 1980s, and for her work with Rodney Dillard later. She marks her return to the music with this nicely produced album of 13 songs (7 of them her own originals). She sings here in a pleasant, confident manner and is very nicely backed by an all star cast of musicians including Sam Bush (mand.), David Grier (guitar), Jerry Douglas (dobro), Blaine Sprouse (fiddle), and Richard Bailey (banjo). A very nicely done recording apart from the inclusion of drums on some cuts, which seem out of place on this otherwise all-acoustic package.
