DEL MCCOURY 'High On a Mountain'

DEL MCCOURY 'High On a Mountain'

  • $13.50

Recorded in 1972, this was the first album that McCoury recorded for the Rounder label (after a couple that he made for Rebel and one for the Arhoolie label—all of which originally came out on LP).  The title song turned out to be one of  Del’s best songs, and other really good ones here include DON’T YOU CALL MY NAME and IT’S IN MY MIND TO RAMBLE.  Supporting players here were Dick Staber (mandolin), Bill Runkle (banjo), Billy Sage (fiddle) and Jerry McCoury on acoustic bass.
