Those who have enjoyed Volume 1 of this impressive collection of old-time recordings from the 1920s and 30s have probably picked up this 2nd volume already: those still considering, be assured there are enough classic recordings here to warm the heart of any fan of old time music. The 23 tracks include music from both the black and white rural traditions, and some of the gems here include A.A. Gray's TALLAPOOSA BOUND, Blind Alfred Reed's BEWARE, The Shelor Family's BILLY GRIMES THE ROVER, Wilmer Watts' KNOCKING DOWN CASEY JONES, JOHN HENRY BLUES by Earl Johnson, and the Georgia Crackers' classic RILEY THE FURNITURE MAN. There are also lovely cuts by Emmett Lundy, Ernest Stoneman, Uncle Dave Macon, Henry Thomas, Cannon's Jug Stompers, Louie Bluie, Richard Rabbit Brown, etc. A great amount of wonderful music here, in top quality Yazoo sound, and a booklet that includes some neat photos. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
