NORMAN BLAKE 'Back Home in Sulphur Springs'

NORMAN BLAKE 'Back Home in Sulphur Springs'

  • $13.50

This, the first album to feature the remarkable Blake, was recorded in 1971, and was also one of the first dozen LPs to appear on the fledgling Rounder label. The disc features 15 pieces, some of them examples of Blake’s excellent guitar picking (DONE GONE, CATTLE IN THE CANE, SPANISH FANDANGO), as well as some good songs that made up his early repertoire ( CROSSING No. 9, GINSENG SULLIVAN, RANDALL COLLINS, etc). Blake is joined on some pieces by the dobro picking of his Georgia neighbor Tut Taylor. A good album that kicked off a long and very successful recording career for this unique and distinctive artist.
