Originally issued in the late 1970s, this was the very first release on the Sugar Hill label—a company that was to become one of the major players in the Bluegrass field. It was a highly influential record for its time: even though all but the title track were Bluegrass standards, the group caught the eyes & ears of a younger audience, thanks to the presence of 3 members who were to become superstars in the genre, Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas and banjo picker Terry Baucom. Singer & guitarist Wes Golding was a key member as well, though he did not go on to a full career in the music. The record came out initially on LP (vinyl), but when it was re-issued onto CD in 1991 three additional (live) tracks were included: PARADISE, WALKING IN JERUSALEM and PATHWAY OF TEARDROPS. Many of today’s Bluegrass stars cite this album (along with J.D. Crowe’s NEW SOUTH recording) as major influences in their careers
