Despite the fact that Dan Tyminski is no longer a member of this band, L.R.B. is still blessed with an embarrassment of riches, especially in the instrumental department. Sammy Shelor on banjo and Kenny Smith on lead guitar are at the very top of the list of their respective instruments according to the voting of the IBMA members, and Don Rigsby (mandolin) and fiddler Rickie Simpkins are among the notables in their categories too. Funny then that there are no instrumentals on this superb new album, but really the name of the game for this top band is the fine vocals of Ronnie Bowman backed by the driving, stellar accompaniment that one would expect. All of the 12 songs here are well performed, dynamic, state of the art Bluegrass, but we would cite the following four numbers for memorable excellence: the title song, HARVEST TIME (a great song previously made popular by the Lost & Found), the gospel DO YOU WANT TO LIVE IN GLORY, and the wonderful THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN BURY ME. A great album and highly recommended.
