The long awaited 4th album by Krauss is another superb effort by perhaps the most compelling young artist in the Bluegrass field today. It is strong in material and there's more pure hard bluegrass here than on any of her previous 3 recordings thanks in part to the superb accompanists: Tim Stafford on guitar, Ron Block on banjo, Adam Steffey on mandolin and Barry Bales on bass. With each new recording Ms. Krauss shows an increased maturity and comfort with her material. I'd love to hear one or two standards(like ANOTHER NIGHT here or the great duet ashe did on I DON'T BELIEVE YOU'VE MET MY BABY on a recent Jerry Douglas CD) to help set off the newer material; but all of the 14 cuts here are fine performances and make up a very listenable & powerful disc. LAST LOVE LETTER, CLUCK OLD HEN, LOSE AGAIN, JESUS HELP ME STAND, SHIELD OF FAITH, CLOUDY DAYS, I DON'T KNOW WHY, IT WON'T WORK THIS TIME, HEARTSTRINGS.
