A pleasant collection of 16 songs, all written by Lewsi, made up from her three Flying Fish albums, with the addition of 4 previously unissued cuts, THE BEAR SONG, GIRL-FRIEND GUARD YOUR HEART, FINE LINE and MAGIC LIGHT. Designed to showcase Laurie's songwriting abilities, this is not a "best of" collection, and in fact is not as strong as at least two of the albums it draws from, SINGING MY TROUBLES AWAY (FF-515) or her wonderful "TRUE STORIES" recording (ROU-0300). But Lewsi' singing is always impressive and this is a nice album, with solid backing--mostly bluegrass, but with pedal steel, electric guitar, piano & sax on some cuts.
