TINA ADAIR 'All You Need'

A nicely produced and satisfying album by this Alabama lady and her family band, the Adairs. Ms. Adair has a good voice (at times a bit reminiscent of Alison Krauss), and plays mandolin competently, and she is very well supported by the group which features excellent & tasteful lead guitar work by Tony Wray, and fine fiddle work by guests Aubrey Haynie and David Crow. This is a stronger and more successful album than the Adairs debut disc for Sugar Hill, mainly on the strength of a better mix of material. Ms. Adair does best on some of the standards (HOW GREAT THOU ART, WAYFARING STRANGER) as well as DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES and a nice John Pennell song, ONLY MY HEART. Also: NOT MISSING YOU, HOMESTEAD, BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK, I DO, NIGHTS ARE FOREVER, etc.
