DOC WATSON 'Riding the Midnight Train' SH-3752-CD

$18.00
Add To Wishlist

This was the only full-fledged Bluegrass album that Watson made, but like 99% of his recorded work it was pulled off beautifully. Watson never claimed to be a Bluegrass singer or musician, but he does seem right at home on this album, which first came out in 1986 as an LP. Thanks to a sympathetic production job by Barry Poss and fine backing from Sam Bush (mandolin), Mark O'Connor (fiddle) and Bela Fleck (banjo), as well as some great songs, the effort turns out to be totally successful. (Merle Watson, T. Michael Coleman and Alan O'Bryant also are part of the backing crew).
