Another lovely package from the great Doc Watson(has he ever put out anything that was short of first-rate?. In this case, Watson has gone back to his "roots" again for an album that is similar in some ways to his first few Vanguard recordings--13 fine old time songs that Watson handles so beautifully in his honest, solidly unabashed manner. Top flight help is provided by Aln O'Bryan, Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, roy huskey Jr., Jerry Douglas, etc, but the show is really all Watson's and the flavor is definitely old timey. Fine stuff. YOUR LONG JOURNEY, DON'T SAY GOODBYE, GRANDFATHER'S CLOCK, SIGNAL LIGHT, SLEEP BABY SLEEP, MY FRIEND JIM, WRECK OF THE NUMBER NINE, DREAM OF THE MINER'S CHILD, NO TELEPHONE IN HEAVEN, etc.
