Here is a lovely 22 song collection (over 71 minutes of music) that was recorded pretty early in Doc Watson’s career. For many of us it recalls how we remember seeing Doc for the first time—in an old time setting, accompanied by his North Carolina neighbors Clint Howard and Fred Price. It was wonderful, honest music played with a lot of personality, and it still holds up beautifully today, some 30 years later. (The recordings were done at a Seattle Folklore concert back in 1967. Here are a few of the songs & tunes that they performed so well: WAY DOWNTOWN, RANK STRANGER, CRAWDAD, SLEWFOOT, MOUNTAIN DEW, PRETTY LITTLE PINK, CORRINA, LITTLE ORPHAN GIRL, WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN, etc.
