LAUREL CANYON RAMBLERS 'Back on the Street Again'
Pleasant, solid Bluegrass by this California band led by Herb Pedersen, with Kenny Blackwell, Roger Reed, Bill Bryson and Gabe Witcher. The title song does nothing for this listener, and unfortunately it’s the first track on an otherwise very nice album. After that the group gets going with many very nice performances, including Vern & Ray’s HAPPY I’LL BE, IT HURTS TO KNOW, COME BACK LITTLE PAL and Bill Bryson’s MOVE ON—probably the nicest cut on the record. The sound is generally straight traditional Bluegrass, with a contemporary flavor on 3 or 4 of the cuts. WHEN I STOP DREAMING, HOLD ON, HEAVEN BOUND, GIRL BY THE BANK, PAMELA’S SONG, etc. Available only on CD
