Another of the Yazoo label's wonderful anthologies taken from rare old 78rpm recordings of the 1920s and 1930s, this one contains another 23 tracks from both the white and black rural traditions, with a general theme of drinking, gambling, and the effects thereof. As usual with Yazoo, there are no weak cuts here, but some of the real dandies are LITTLE SADIE (Clarence Ashley), COUNTRY BLUES (Dock Boggs), WAY DOWN THE OLD PLANK ROAD (Macon), STACK-O-LEE (Fruit Jar Guzzlers), CHAIN GANG SPECIAL (Watts & Wilson), FRANKIE (Dykes Magic City Trio), VIOLA LEE BLUES (Cannon's Jug Stompers), GOT THE JAKE LEG TOO (Ray Bros.), JESSE JAMES (Ken Maynard), ROCK HOUSE GAMBLERS (McClung Bros.), KENTUCKY BLUES (Little Hat Jones), etc.
