BLUEGRASS INTENTIONS 'Old As Dirt'
The fine banjo player Bill Evans joins Californians Alan Senauke and Eric & Suzy Thompson in this nicely played 13-cut collection that could be called an old-time /Bluegrass hybrid. While the harmony singing is a bit rough in places, most everything else is quite nicely done here, such as the lovely guitar & fiddle interplay on an excellent arrangement of JACK OF DIAMONDS. A nice selection of material includes good instrumentals and a couple of well-done Carter Family songs, GIRL ON THE GREENBRIER SHORE and YOU'VE GOT TO RIGHTEN THAT WRONG.BRING BACK MY BOY, ON A MONDAY, LAZY FARMER BOY, PETERSBURG GAL, etc.
