Here is a welcome re-release of an LP that was issued in the 1980s by the Tennessee Folklore Society. Nicely annotated by Charles Wolfe and with much improved graphics, the CD presents 21 songs and tunes recorded in 1950, a year or so before Macon's death. Though recorded on a small portable tape machine at 3 _ speed, the album is nevertheless a very enjoyable and special look at one of the great figures in the history of the Grand Ole' Opry and country music in general. Includes some songs & tunes not recorded elsewhere by Macon, such as BULLY OF THE TOWN, MOUNTAIN DEW, LONG JOHN GREEN, LADY IN THE CAR, NO ONE TO WELCOME ME HOME, etc.
