There’s essentially no information provided to tell us exactly what is the history of these recordings and/or what musicians play and sing on them. Apparently from radio tapes or discs, they sound like late 1950s or 1960s cuts and for the most part duplicate many of Story’s well known Mercury or Starday recordings (with 5-string banjo featured more than the equivalent Mercurys). The sound quality is just average but the music is solid, more similar to Story’s early Starday work than to his classic Mercury sessions. There are 20 songs here.
