It's amazing and wonderful how the influence of Jimmie Rodgers and his music continues to this day, three quarters of a century after the Singing Brakeman's death. The German Bear Family label --which previously issued the complete & definitive Jimmie Rodgers boxed set of 100 plus recordings (still available: BCD-15540, 6-CD set with Booklet, $_125.00) --has done a nice job in presenting this 27 song album that features Rodgers' songs recorded over the years by such stars as HANK SNOW, LEFTY FRIZZELL, WEBB PIERCE, BILL MONROE, ERNEST TUBB, DOLLY PARTON, BOB WILLS, JIMMIE SKINNER and GRANDPA JONES among others.
