Carl Jackson has done an excellent job in producing this impressive tribute to one of the greatest groups in country music's history, the LOUVIN BROTHERS. In addition to their fantastic vocal harmonies, the Louvin's featured the superbly creative writing talents of Ira Louvin, so this package starts off with the big plus of having 16 great yet varied songs to work with. Each of these songs is handled by a different duet, for example, Dolly Parton and Sonya Isaacs, Marty Stuart and Del McCoury, Merle Haggard and Carl Jackson, and Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. The respect that these artists have for the Louvins shines through and every track is a job well done. If there's any complaint here, it's that some of the instrumental backing is a bit too modern, seeming a little inappropriate at times. All in all though, a great concept well executed. WHEN I STOP DREAMING, CASH ON THE BARRELHEAD, LET US TRAVEL ON, THE ANGELS REJOICED, I WISH YOU KNEW, YOU'RE RUNNING WILD, etc.
