Copper Creek has gone to the Columbia vaults for this 12-song compilation that provides a nice --if brief --look at the country music scene of the late 1940s and early 50s. The Columbia label was really pre-eminent in country music at that time and here you will find good examples by such artists as Lefty Frizzell (ALWAYS LATE), Little Jimmy Dickens (WE COULD), Ray Price (CRAZY ARMS), Floyd Tillman (SLIPPING AROUND), Marty Robbins (I'LL GO ON ALONE), George Morgan (CANDY KISSES) and even Carl Story and Flatt & Scruggs (GONNA SLEEP WITH ONE EYE OPEN).
