We normally disregard the "hype" that appears on the back of many CDs these days, but the brief blurb on this re-issue pretty much hits the nail on the head, so we quote: 'Classic, hard-core Bluegrass featuring hair-raising, paint-peeling, barn-burning vocals by one of the greatest tenor singers in the history of Bluegrass music. This is the real stuff, not for the faint of heart.' Yes there are rough edges, especially in the singing, but this is good stuff featuring Vern on mandolin, son Del Williams on guitar, Keith Little on banjo and Ed Neff on fiddle. The California-based band cut these 16 songs between 1982-1988.
