ESCO HANKINS 'Rising Sun'

ESCO HANKINS 'Rising Sun'

  • $15.00

Knoxville-born Hankins had a voice a lot like Roy Acuff’s, and made his early career covering Acuff’s hits. (He later went on to make some fine gospel records with his wife Jackie, owned a record store in Lexington, KY, and was a noted DJ). This 22-song package contains all of his King and Mercury recordings, which feature a fiddle and dobro and have generally more of a “down home” sound than even the Acuff originals. FIRE BALL MAIL, PRECIOUS JEWEL, WRECK ON THE HIGHWAY, LOW & LONELY, NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW, SWEETER THAN THE FLOWERS, WORLD OF SORROW, etc.
