MOLLY O'DAY 'Radio Favorites Sacred and Secular Songs'

MOLLY O'DAY 'Radio Favorites Sacred and Secular Songs'

  • $13.50

With this recently re-issued CD there are now 4 albums which fully document the recorded repertoire of the late Molly O’Day : (OH-312-CD and OH-313-CD cover LP albums that she made in the late 1960s, while her early Columbia classics are gathered in OH-196-CD and this current release). If we have counted right, there are 14 songs here that came out on Columbia 78s in the late 1940s, including such classics as THE EVENING TRAIN, SIX MORE MILES, WHY DO YOU WEEP DEAR WILLOW, DRUNKEN DRIVER and THE BLACK SHEEP RETURNED TO THE FOLD. There are also 4 neat additional tracks from rare old radio transcriptions: MULE SKINNER BLUES, GOODNIGHT DARLING, TOO LATE TO WORRY and I WISH I WAS A SINGLE GIRL AGAIN. Though the sound quality is not the greatest, it’s good to have access to all the recordings of one of the greatest country singers of all.
