DOC HOPKINS & HIS COUNTRY BOYS "Vol. 1"

DOC HOPKINS & HIS COUNTRY BOYS "Vol. 1"

  • $15.00

30 old-time songs taken from M. M. COLE radio transcriptions recorded in Chicago in 1944. Hopkins, was a member of the Cumberland Ridge Runners with Karl & Harty: they made up a very popular group on several Mid-Western radio stations including WLS, WLW, WHAS and WJJD. It is suggested that on these recordings he is actually backed by the Prairie Ramblers (guitar, fiddle, accordion & bass). Hopkins has a very pleasant voice and does a nice job on such songs as BARBARA ALLEN, DYING COWBOY, CURTAINS OF NIGHT, LETTER EDGED IN BLACK, etc.
