Nice to see this CD re-issue of a fine early Starday album which was taken from old radio transcriptions of the late 40's. Lovely duets with mandolin & guitar by Bill & Earl Bolick who were radio favorites from the mid 1930's until they retired in 1951. Unlike their well known Bluebird recordings, which were strictly duests, on their radio shows they usually also featured a fiddle, and this adds some extra variety to these 16 tracks which include gospel songs, fiddle tunes, and the old songs & ballads which the Bolicks excelled at. NINE POUND HAMMER, GET ALONG HOME CINDY, THERE'S BEEN A CHANGE, TUG BOAT, TURN YOUR RADIO ON, MARY OF THE WILD MOOR, LAST LETTER, etc.
