It’s hard to believe, but this Chicago-based Bluegrass band has been in existence for more than 30 years, led by the fine banjo picker Greg Cahill. Currently the 4-piece contemporary band (no fiddle) employs the services of Ron Spears as mandolinist and one of the two lead singers (guitarist Justin Carbone is the other), with Tres Nugent playing bass. It’s a solid, tight group that has chosen a nice selection of material including songs by Spears, Pete Goble, Carl Jackson, Johnny Williams and Carbone. Just one old standard here, the well done TODAY HAS BEEN A LONESOME DAY. Nice job by a solid, hard-working Bluegrass band.
