Tim & Mollie's first Sugar Hill record (SH-3766) was great; their 2nd a disappointment because of too much unsuitable material. This one is somewhere in between, but there are enough great cuts here to recommend it enthusiastically. Assisted by several other musicians(including Mark Shatz & Mike Seeger), Tim & Mollie present well-arranged and nicely sung versions of 14 mostly older songs, most effective of which are lovely versions of TRAGIC ROMANCE, FATHER ADIEU, ORPHAN GIRL, WHICITA, HOME BY THE SEA and the title cut. Tim's work on mandolin, guitar, fiddle and other instruments is always tasteful and interesting and the generally simple accompaniments are appropriate(though the accordian seems out of place on one or two of the songs) PRICE TO PAY, WHEN I WAS A COWBOY, BAD DAY, WHEN MY BLUE MOON TURNS TO GOLD, etc.
