Originally recorded and issued by Mike Seeger in 1959, this fine collection was a milestone in introducing many to the wealth of fine & super-talented Bluegrass musicians for whom there were minimal opportunities to make any more than part time employment at the time. The 23 cuts here (four of them previously unissued) offer plenty of dynamic, exciting music by a number of musicians including EARL TAYLOR, BOB BAKER, TEX LOGAN, SMILEY HOBBS, and a fine band consisting of DON STOVER, "B" LILLY and CHUBBY ANTHONY. With excellent & extensive notes, this is a significant album of fine music that should be in most collections.
