THOMAS BAILEY 'Brilliancy' BRIAR-2001-CD
We were just introduced to this old-time fiddle album, which actually came out in 2001. Bailey is a Virginian who has a nice touch on some good tunes (he also supplies the guitar and/or banjo accompaniment via over-dubbing). The little bit of singing is off-mike (at least on CINDY) and could well have been left off. Some of the tunes are a bit sloppy, others are right on. All in all an enjoyable album of old-time fiddling. CUMBERLAND GAP, I'VE GOT NO SUGAR BABY, CITICO, REUBEN'S TRAIN, etc
