COUNTRY HAM 'Songs From The Blue Ridge Mountains'

COUNTRY HAM 'Songs From The Blue Ridge Mountains'

This fine band that seems to pop up all over the country (Washington DC, California, Pennsylvania, Virginia) has been playing it’s unique brand of country/old-time music since 1975, with Carl Pagter on old-time banjo, and Judie Pagter playing autoharp and doing most of the singing. On this new album they are joined by Pete and Ellen Vigour of Crozet, Virginia on fiddle and mandolin, as well as M.D. Mallory and Wanda Shelton (bass) on a nice program of 16 songs taken mostly from the old-time repertoire like SENECA SQUARE DANCE, WHISTLING RUFUS, COME HOME FATHER, GOING ACROSS THE SEA, WHEN THE BEES ARE IN THE HIVE, SOFT ECHOES and MY LITTLE HOME IN TENNESSEE. Nice job.
